At the moment all the Mini has is standard door locks.

I'd like central locking & immobiliser as a minimum... what else could/should I go for?

Suggestions & £££ ?

Cheers!

its a catch 22 situation, do i do it for improved security, and risk being unconsious and under water? (its unlikely to happen, unless you plan a top gear style channel crossing) ive had it done on my car, and tried it out on a spare window - it will break if you use one of those special pointy glass hammers, once it tears from the pointy bit you can pull the glass out. it does stop someone putting a brick through your window, and theres a lot less mess afterwards.

Hmm.

I'm meaning in terms of alarms ...... there's bugger all to build on, other than a simply key lock lol

I'd start with a dis-car-nect device. They're a really clever immobiliser and dead cheap! Its basically equivilant to taking you battery with you when you park your car.

they work really well, although to put most opportunist thieves off, you need something that is blatantly obvious, like a disklok that covers the entire steering wheel. ok so its bulky and gets in the way when you remove it, but its a really good deterrent. i use a pedal clamp in mine, which locks all 3 pedals together, and stops them being pushed to the floor. i like that, but its really annoying when you forget its fitted.

The dis-car-nect would put the medicure (not opportunist but not quite made it big time - dya like my description?) thief off because he wouldn't think to look in the boot of the car when the engine don't start...

basically, anything bright yellow, has got a lock on it is good. so an alsatian, painted bright yellow with a padlock round its neck would be ideal.
