Well after just under 3 months in the body shop having a new front end due to a delivery van we have our mini back....

it has had a brand new front end from the doors forward, all the little dings and dents and mountains of filler have been removed and the car has been bought back to its sexyness that is original looking minus archs.....

we have the archs ready to go on but unfortunately when we turned up on the completion day at the garage it wasnt complete and they have killed my custom made dash

here is a pic of the car as it was and as it is now.









just a few things to get done now like the whole interior....... and put the archs on! which will be fun i think...

whats the problem with the dash ?

basicly bungle they decided it was best just to pull at the dash instead of taking the bolts off and then lifting it out, and because it was made in MDF the screws just ripped out the wood and now it wont screw back in..... thus making me have to make a new one....... so today i had the lovely task of taking my dash that i put alot of effort into apart and starting on a new one. this time i am using 12mm plywood which in theory is stronger....... and hopefully onces its in thats it....

no they didnt and i wasnt bothered to argue, i just wanted the car out and back home so i can crak on with working on it. i dont mind making the new dash anyway. seeing that the old one was in a workshop for 3 months it was dirty... and the surround which was red felt was all sh1ty....

The paint has a pearl to it so in different light comes out in different shades, the main pic on my driveway was taken with an SLR and was in very over cast light..... thus being bright red.

as for the Dash yes it was that White one that i had only just installed

and this is what it did look like.

been a bit busy over christmas, cleaned the car up a bit and started on the new dashboard, its getting there. its the right shape and the dials are now in. sorted the earth for the stereo to.. so now that will work.

not painted the dash yet though.

i reckon u should get the dash to look like it did before the accident it looked very smart, i havent seen anyone colour code their top dash rail cover before,, unless im just being blind.

and hoping to get it as close to what it was before the accident. may change the way the speakers are on the dash. due to them being custom size they dont have mesh to hide the screws so look a bit poo just on the front of the dash.
