the local turkey farm has had 8000 birds stolen last night

Really?!we have just found out we don't have a turkey for tomorrow

I'm not big on Christmas this year to be honest, I'm meant to be moving house but delayed by everything closing down... Can't get a bed or a washing machine (well I can order stuff but it will take extra long to get here) and can't rent a van til the end of the week, so I'm stuck at my parents' house. Most people would not consider this a bad thing at Christmas, but quite frankly at any time of year I prefer having my own space.

I must be the only person I know who hates Christmas, and the older I get the more I don't like it. I fail to see any need in getting excited over one day, which will have cost people £100's. The the hype does my head in, people go crazy shopping, why most shops are now only closed for 1 day, so whats the big deal.
I find Christmas the most boring time of year, can't work as most of my clients shut down, can't work on the cars, well I can but out of politeness for the neighbours I won't.
Why do we make such a fuss over it? especially as very few people are religous these days.
I for one will be glad when its all over and done with, and we can get back to normal.
Anyway Merry Christmas to those of you who do enjoy it.
