Evening.

Working on El Odio fitting more parts (the chrome makes me feel special) and I'm getting to the heater bit. I need a long pipe from the front of the car to the heater and a long pipe from heater to the screen vent.

Seeing as Minispares want £20 for the big pipe (sorry Simon....no) I need to know dose anyone know where I can get the pipe cheaper. Was thinking og trying tumble dryer pipe bit it only comes in white or chrome both of which look C**p. So any suggestions?

ALSO! Should rear screen rubber need trimming to bit? Mines seems......too long. Fairly sure it's not a front screen rubber but I will try it later.

Final thing, big mini petrol tanks DO NOT fit Hornets. The neck if straight on a hornet, mini it comes off on a weird angle.

Your car is a Mk1 isn't it? The rear screen was smaller on Mk1s. Don't break your rear screen, I think they are pretty expensive. The shorter rubber for these screens is NLA so yes, you need to chop down a late seal.

Buy the pipe tightwad! Or try an actual car parts place for something that won't be disolved by oil vapour as tumble drier ducting will. Don't turn your car into a jumble sale rebuild mate, please at least use car parts. You will find that Europa Specialist Spares or Holden Vintage and Classic will have something, or Car Builder Solutions might.

You might get lucky in the scraps but I can't think of any modern cars that use convoluted hose with the same gusto the Mini does. There are also hose specialists and dust extractor installers that might be worth tracking down.

Planning on fitting a later heated one were you? Some car glass companies do make heated Mk1 size screens.

Yes.....yes I did. Luckily adautobits is going to sell me one.

On another note. White wire off the coil, that switch 12v or constant 12v?

Depends on whether you would like to be able to switch the engine off once started.
