Hey, went for a trip to the local scrap yard today, it was very interesting, like going back in time infact.
There were two mini shells with various bits intact and engines. One pretty buggered mini van, and a mini front including engine, there were various other mini parts around the site.
I also found about 10 metros with about 7 who had engines and about 4 of them were 1.3's! obviously the mini community haven't found this place yet, although the enging out of a mg metro had already been snatched =(
Will be going back there for a better look sometime sure i think!
Here are some pics...

that's one hell of a retro scrapyard!

Most round here are just everyday boring cars.

Think the only place that comes close is the deathtrap H Pringle (Jordie, you been in there before?)

Millhouse one has quite a few old cars, including a blue mk2 transit chassis cab that's been there as long as i can remember

Found yerself an Ebay goldmine I reckon :)

Don't suppose there's a baby Fiat 126 ? I wouldn't mind a spare windscreen.

Aaactually, there might have been one there! I remember seeing one and saying how it was just like a mini fiat. I'll ask my dad if it was a 126 when he gets home, i just looked it up on google, looked very similar.

126 'n 127

127 is more of a Metro clone, save for it being around first - I believe the disc brakes have been pinched for Minis too.

126 is even smaller than a mini and rear engined - an update of the Fiat 500 bubble car.

wow, what a place :P

think there's a future in "retro scrapyard world", a fun park where lots of people pay to walk round a field full of rotting old classics? think i may be onto something here :) :proud:

PS: one of the pics looks just like a car park at the local car boot sale ;)

for some strange reason, these places are far more interesting than museums filled with restored cars :)

PS: someones really messed up fitting that front sub-frame on that blue one :proud: ;)
