Nice :)

May I HIGHLY recommend thoroughly sound deadening the area before you whack the fibreglass down? Mini steel isn't exactly thick, and will rattle and reverborate like nobody's business!

its already got loads of lead flashing on the other sides of the pannels to stop them resonating :D

UPDATE:

Played with tape again today lol

Then i mixxed up some resin and riped my some fiberglass, i did 2 or 3 layers and got this

hopefully will be nicely hardend in the morning to pop off the boot lid and then strengthen where nessesary and then trim,
and if that dries in time then i will attach the mdf part that holds the amp in place to that mold =]

just went and looked at the mold and i did some of it too thin, it got dark when i was doing it and couldnt see lol, going to bulk it up in a min then hopefully will be hard enough to pop it later!

played with filler and mdf today :P

Stage one: make MDF base

Stage 2: Cut speaker rings and position using off cuts held in place with a hot glue gun

Looks like a lot of hard work just preparing the job, but thats the key to any job.

streched the material over it today, looks briliant! gives a reall good idea of what it will look like

Hey, i just streched the material tighter over the middle bit, the tighter you pull it the more it dips :shifty:

after im finished with the project im going to make a step by step guide on how to do exactly what ive done seeing as quite a few people are interested :)

maybe tommorow, not sure yet, ive been off work all week fairly ill so im not sure if using strong smelling chemicals like fiberglass resin is such a great idea for now lol
