So how is it done, whats the easiest way and is it possible to do it without hindering the useability of the vents?

by the way, 10cm speakers will fit in place of the airvent, but to fit them in from the front of the dash means that the vent hole will need trimming slightly.

most tweeters will render the airvents useless, because of their size is almost the diameter of the airvent tube. most people mount the tweeters on the top dash rail, on in each corner. mine are held in using foam tape as i didnt want to drill holes.

Ooooo so that's where I went wrong! Ahh well they look nice anyway!

You might like to consider an alternative like this. Don't ask for details, it's on a pick-up belonging to a German I snapped at IMM in Denmark

I had an idea for mounting the tweeters inside the vent, with just a thin bracket going through the middle of the pipe, secured top and bottom somehow outside the pipe, and then mounting the tweeter to the middle of that. That way the air could still move around the speaker, and if I get the position right, sound just as good. Any of that making sense to anyone? lol

I love the fresh air vents, and being a late model rover, they work off the heater aswell, so yes I do find them useful for keeping warm. Plus theyre great on the motorway if it gets a bit to warm!
