Well, this is Barb. A Moke originally dispatched to Barbados. I found her about two and a half years ago up in Canada. I enjoyed driving her for a couple of years but the tin worm was starting to take hold. So we tore her to bits gave her a day at the spa. (media blaster) Of course, when you strip a 40 year old girl naked, you find a few more blemishes than anticipated.

Haven't you guys ever seen a beer engine?
A couple more pics of the tin-worm... Driver's side footwell and floor along the fuel tank.
Body guy tells me it's not a real big deal to cut out the bad metal and replace.

"...Not a big job what are you doing to the her ?"
Not much besides the bodywork, repaint, wiring, rebuilding the braking system, suspension, engine, and transmission... Couple of long weekends.
I hope to be done this year. Probably just in time for the snow again.

As long as I'm on here, a couple of Moke specific questions.
1.) Are the suspension trumpets front and rear the same as all early Minis or longer? (I'm planning on using Hi-Lo's and just need to know if the standard ones will be close enough)
2.) Same for the shocks. Are these the standard height units?
Isn't it fun to tear into a 40 year old car?

It's been a while... Time for an update. Bottom of the Moke is now in colour!
We've been gathering parts, short block is rebuilt, waiting on the head and tranny...
Like I'm fond of saying, sometimes you gotta just stand up and spend money like a real man...
Money you ain't got!
