C16se/z16se Whats The Difference?

Hi all,
Im currently looking for a c16se engine for my current project and ive come across the z16se engine taken from a 2001 astra.
Can anyone tell me the difference between the two?

This is my 1st proper project so excuse me if i sound a bit thick..lol >_<

z16 is just the newer engine. go for c16. better engines if i remember rightly. tutor at college work at vauxhall for 14 years and had a corsa gsi in his earlier days. also cheaper :lol: i have a mate who has loads of spares, give me a shout if you need anything like gearboxes or things.

Yeah i'll stick with the c16..i was just gettin a little impatient as i got outbid with secs left on ebay for one!..grrrrrrrr
good job i aint got a cat because id of kicked it over the moon!..lol

i'll wait for the effects of xmas to soothe and get stuck in!

C16SE was used from late Astra mk2 thru to early Astra mk3, at which point it got changed for 16v (X16XE/L) :thumbsup:

Z16SE came after that in the mk4.

Was also used in Nova GSi's an early Corsas.

Iirc there's a near-identical variant, but can't for the life of me think what it is at the mo.
