Hi guys. Yes I'm a Metro owner, but I did have two mini's in the past but being 6'4" with back problems means they just aren't suitable anymore

Anyway, I have an A-series Metro which I'm having built, I've come over from the VW scene which is too bitchy and you need a new car every year if you want to win any trophies, and the wife is threatening divorce now! Anyway, I'm after an MPi engine, interested in building a little injected and turbo'd play-thing so looking for a base engine with ancillaries if anyone has one.

I'm also trying to find info on a coil-spring conversion kit that repalces the rubber cones on mini's, I can't find anything! And if anyone has any intersting metro parts, particulary the earlier Mk1's, please let me know, absolutely anything!

Good site by the way, def' friendlier than the VW sites!

cheers

It's a bog standard late G-plate being stripped down ready for a trip to SPL for dipping, and then I've bought an ex-racer purely for the MK1 dash and some other bits, and hopefully get some money back from the cage etc. It's gunna cost a pretty penny but it should be alot more interesting than a dub, my last one cost over 25k (Vento VR6) and only got 8 back, which is my total budget for this. Choccy brown, image splits, got a mega early red/brown vinyl '82 interior, then hopefully a nice strong motor, something different.

Just having a look thru the classifieds now ;-)

Hi..!..6'4" is a bad excuse for not owning a mini when you have a metro with that huge step to climb over when you want to get in or out no such probs in a mini .......................

£8k on a project mini my god you have a decent sized budget then. You can get a nicely tuned slark or MED engine for about £1k dependsing on spec. Saying that you could easily spend £1k on a head.

Well, technically she thinks I only got 4k back from the Vento, so she thinks that's all I'm spending, she's wanting little 'uns soon so I'm getting some toys built first! Yeah, the dub scene is good, but spending 3k on a set of BBS splits needing a re-furb and new outers, then you see every other car at the same show with the same wheels, kinda gets annoying! Glad I sold the sodding thing!

Been trawling for parts all day, anyone have any good links to sites with technical details on the Mpi lump, trying to find exactly what the differences between that and an carb'd A+????
