Evening,

Well I started El Odio and it sounded most awesome.

Until I gave it some rev's. If I blipped the throttle it would rev then give a pop on the way down.

Would this be the ignition system breaking down? Coils a about year or so old, no idea about the bits in the dizzy.

Also!

63 glass and 82 glass.....very different. 63 is thicker.

Since the backfire came when the engine was decelerating, not at high revs and not under load, look for an exhaust leak.

If there is a gap between the manifold and head or anywhere else downstream you can suck in additional air on decel that will mix with partially burned fuel and "pop" in the exhaust pipes. Don't go replacing the coil as coil failures normally show up while running at high speed or when the coil has had time to get hot... neither of which matches your description.
