I carpetted the sides of my console. Solves the issue of shoes rubbing the finish off it. Looks much neater too.

How many people have cut a piece out of the drivers side for clutch pedal clearance? Was just browsing the Minifinity guide of making a Console and it said you could cut a section out for better clearance.

Just about to start making one to house my new stereo and some vents.

i personallt think, that although it serves a good purpose, it wont look symetrical and it looks a bit silly in my mind. but im a bit weird like that.

If you spend some time curving it after cutting a section I think it looks fine. Looks very professional in the guide on Minifinity

Although I reckon it would improve driving alot if you have size 10 or above feet

Any significant difference in fitting one to a mini with the late 2-speed heater? Mine (in bits in the boot lol) doesnt look as though it fits right; the front panel now.
I think im going to cut as much of both sidees out as possible, i dont like the lack of space

How are those extra heater vents hooked up they look cool. Do you need a special heater for them?

I'll see if I can get one for you when I get home. Stuck at work in the rain at the moment >< Nudge me at 9ish tonight if you're around :dontgetit:

All it needed was chalk, scissors, spray-on glue and piece of carpet the same colour as Monty's and about 20 mins. Best to do it before the console's in place though as they tend to be a royal pain to get into place in most cases. I really do recommend you taking your seats out first, makes life SOOO much easier! :-
