is that a BOV matrix ?? is that the same charger as the jonspeed / vmax ??

PS - welcome to TMF low and slow!!

No and No

although if thats the setup theyre talking about atm, thats pretty damn stupid if its suck through and venting fuel/air onto a wrapped manifold...

:D

Hi low and slow, first dibs on the flaming charger! :)

The Eaton 45 has a dump valve.... well sort of. It has an internal pressure release valve which returns the excess air back to the top of the charger.

i was thinking about this super charger again today. (while messing with my shitty fiestas rear brakes) and if the manifold it charged. what sort of use would a vaccum brake servo be???
or would you just have to simply connect it the other side of the supercharger instead of the manifold.

generally, you dont brake on boost, so it has just as much use as on a naturally asthsmatic engine, this is why dumpvalves wont work, because the supercharger doesnt retain positive pressure in its system like a turbo setup (turbo setups dont hold boost in the manifold either, just from the butterfly to the compressor housing)

Hi low and slow, first dibs on the flaming charger!

The Eaton 45 has a dump valve.... well sort of. It has an internal pressure release valve which returns the excess air back to the top of the charger.

I've been talking off of my ####, sorry!

'Another Eaton feature, a vacuum-operated bypass valve, recirculates the blower's air flow when boost is not needed (At idle and during light throttle, cruising applications.—MAX) to lighten the pressure on the engine and help to maintain near-stock fuel economy levels.' This is an external valve, built into some larger models on the charger or is bolted on the side as a bypass.

An interesting discussion.... dump valves and run away chargers
Another one about dump valves....
Another broad discussion....

The vac take off is on the inlet of the charger. Black and red thing on the right of the pic.
