I own a 2000(W reg) Cooper sport John Cooper special, it has a standard 1275cc Spi engine and was wondering if you could tell me what BHP it is.

A 2000 car should have an MPi engine not an SPi. The MPi engine is quoted as producing 63 Ps (Ps is German for Horsepower and is near enough the same value as BHP) in standard tune. Late Rover special editions have the same engine as all other Mini's so unless it's been breathed on it'll be 63 BHP.

Is this a Rover John Cooper Special, or is it from John Cooper Garages? If it is from Worthing then it'll be producing more power.

Easy, twin points (MPi) have the radiator at the front of the bay instead of beside the engine (except in Japan).
