Coil Wires

does anyone know the colour of the wires to the coil...ie minus and plus.i have a single black wire ffrom the fuse box....i have 2 other wire doubled up.where do these wires go on the coil.please help.cheers peeps.

im nott 100% sure but i think the black one go's to the points in the dizzy.

On my old GT plus was white and green and minus was white and brown.
Minus went to the dizzy, if that is any help, how old is it.?

Maybe not that old eh.
Later ones had two white and browns on minus one of which went to the dizzy.(other one to tacho)
one white wire on the plus side.
Any help?

Black wires are earths and generally don't go to the fuse box. Your car should have ballasted ignition. You should find a thick pink/white and a thinner white/yellow both connected to the positive terminal and a pair of white/black wires connected to the negative (you may find only one white/black). One white/black must connect to the distributor, the other if present will be a tacho feed (this is fitted whether there is a tacho installed or not).

That is all as standard though, who knows what previous owners have done to the car. Butchered wiring is very common.

By the way, please don't use TXT SPK in these forums.

That is. No offence meant it's just our rules to use English on this site. We have lots of older members and members from overseas who don't like it or can't read it and just people who find it extremely irritating to try to decode posts. Ultimately people just won't read them if they can't work them out and that doesn't help you. Words are words, numbers are numbers.
