On his way home from this, a knocking began on his car. I went across to inspect and on a test drive, the offside front wheel locked up and caused the car to pull across the road onto the other lane, no oncoming traffic luckily.
Upon further investigation once we returned to his garage, it seemed like a wheel bearing fault.
Collected the car on friday night using the tilting 16ft car trailer. On saturday morning we began the work, a wheel bearing and discs/pads upgrade.
On removal of the hub, we found the CV/driveshaft would not remove from the bearings, so we moved the driveshaft complete from the car so we could work on the hub in a vice and workbench.
After freeing the CV out of the bearings, this is what we found...



The rear of the 2 bearings as exploded, we couldnt even find the other parts of it.
Built the hub up with new bearings and changed the CV, fitted new discs and some pads and all is well again
