That link was brilliant Bungle.

I am hoping to paint mine with smooth red Hammerite. Just need to work out the thinning and if it will roll on well.

I sprayed with a low pressure system outside a mates builders van in white in the UK about 20 years ago in hammerite its ok if you stand about 5 miles away. another mate rolled his estate in blue hammerite, tryed to wet and dry it that did not look good even from 5 miles.
so think about it. try some diffrent paints on old panels. let them dry and see what happens.

i bought mine from my local B&Q i think halfords also stocks some

halfords is a few quid for a pack of varying grades. a couple of them should be fine. i always like to have some extra 1500 or if possible 2000 grade for rubbing down the final coats

a couple of packs! for a whole car? cool dad said i would probably need a 100sheets!

I just stocked up yesterday, I got two packs of each grade, starting at 400 right up to 1500. Need to find some 2000 though.
