i thought they were fully floating. Will need offset boring. My mate got an engine with 'ford' pistons in second hand off someone, he said it was unbelivably quick for a day until it went kablam, but it was the old owner not running in things i expect.

its alrite, i got fully floating cosworth little ends on my conrods so i just though. But im running different pistons. Dont worry about the kablam, pistons are pistons, he was just unlucky. All you have to remember is to gap the rings and check the compression ratio, nothing else can go wrong.

Cosworth is not Ford

Cosworth pistons are forged and tough as old boots

Ford pistons will be 74mm and from the early fiesta 1.0 (76-89), not exactly a performance items

another question. the pistons are not numbered. dont,t know if they have been worn away or they were not marked. If they were never embossed with a number, that is i should fit them in any way.?

There wont be wear on pistons like that.

If there are no markings on them, how do you know them to be Cosworth?

Pictures of these pistons would help

no, which is why i used the 'THOUGHT'. Do you have fully floating cosworth little ends? fiesta pistons? cosworth pistons? no? didnt think so.

My friend had 'ford' pistons as far as he knew, information from another person, i said it wasnt gonna be the pistons fault it went bang as pistons are pistons, and they were 73.5mm so they would hav been cossie pistons. cheers.

What is a Cosworth floating little end.

Your engine is 1430, so you have 74mm pistons and Cooper S rods. If your pins are fully floating , where does Cosworth come into it?
