you can put any carb settup on a normally asperated engine. but when you stick a turbo on then you are limited to just the one unless you go for a twin turbo which i dont think has been done on a mini yet, as you would probably need two exhaust and two inlet manifolds, one each for the turbo's,this would work perfect in a v6 or 8 only really

the problem u have is the vacum or lack of it. standerd webbers won't work with aturbo, basicly because the webbers want a vacum to work and the turbo is giving presure.

You can run a Weber but it must be specially sealed to use it in a blowthrough setup. If your lucky you may be able to find a Dellorto 40 as used on the Lotus Esprit, and on the Janspeed Turbo A-Series. These are already sealed for Turbo use.
Basically most people stick to the SU as it's readily available easy to set-up and is a top bit of kit.

Phil. :)

The dolortos are still easy to find (turbo esprit) from people that deal in second hand lotus spares, and the beuty of this set-up is that you can use a weber manifold .
or have you considered injection ?

Ther is another way.

On the Tickford Capri they used a normal carb (Webber I think) but built a box around it and pressurised the box. thus the carb was never pressurised relitive to it's surroundings. You'll still have to up the fuel pressure and such, but wotrh thinking about, well for a few minuteds at least......
