HIC is MiniWorld right??

Seems like they are offering the best deals. It should be even cheaper for me I'm goin on my mum insurance probably with MiniWorld. The prices of insurance for younger drivers do seem to be going down.

Mini world dont

CIS (co-op, number on first post) also a do a "any driver" policy, put the car in your mums name and insure it for anyone to drive, worked out best for me at 17 on my paxo as you dont have to mention 17 year old with no claims

hhmm....thats what all my m8s are doin!

but i've worked quite alot to get the money to buy the car...it's in my name(whereas m8s have bin bought for em etc)...n i'd rather get my own insurance so it's MINE!not just my mums n mine to drive...if u get me? then what i want to do to it is up to me! :cheese: lol

best quote i've had(only online quotes so far) is from tesco at 1600 fully comp!it doesn't ask to declare mods(because it's online) n neway i've only got a different exhaust! i dont think 1600 is too bad for 17 yrs old :(

That's not too bad. When i was 17 i had a letter read out on Watchdog as the cheapest quote i could get paying over the year was £2,200.

It's ridiculous, shame there's so many idiot drivers that give us youthful ones :( a bad impression

You sure it doens't ask to declare mods?! Theres usually a box that says is tha car standard or modified in anyway, and if you don't declare any mods ur insurance will be null and void anyway.

not sure! i was sure there wasn't but maybe there is!

on the mod side of things....i've got minilights and a different exhaust thats all....were alloy wheels standard on a 1993 mini rio, because then ur allowed alloys before the premium rises aren't u?or is that totally wrong?

I think in Tesco's small print it says the car isn't allowed to be modfied. Could be wrong though

And if they are after market or non-standard alloys they have to be declared.

I found MiniWorld to be really expensive, almost double the price of the quote I got in the end, and they would only give me 5% off. I told them I was a member and that I thought it was 15% but he said no. Unless the bloke I was talking to was a complete numpty!

Nice write up, sure it will be of use to some people.

I'm massively suprised though by liverpoll victoria, i'm insured with them.

I'm 19, no no claims, first insurance on me and i'm paying about £450 tpft on a 1980 1100cc clubman. I know its a lot different to your 1300 but i had a 1996 1.4i rover saloon and i was only paying £1300 tpft on that until i transfered the cover to the mini.

I've always found liverpool victoria to be very cheap for young drivers, it took a short time for them to give me an answer on wether they could insure my mini but that was because they couldnt find its details on their computer (old cars!!).
