You can deseam all the seams.. But if you deseam the roof gutter (like Jack Marshall's mini) water goes in above the door!

and its gotta pass an mot.. because loads have done it!

(but also.. its reported as making it harder to put new panels on..)

Not much help with pictures though!

>_<

I've never thought about the water aspect of it before. How does one get around that?

Very. You need to be a very good welder, make a lot of strengthening plates for the back of the joins, then filler it so that its all smooth - it isnt a job to rush into. Just doing the bumper seams is a very good substitute. Oh, and if you want to know how to go about it, its been covered loads if you search >_<

No offence mate, but are you actually any good at welding? Because deseaming removes ALL the car's structural integrity, it can be incredibly unsafe if it isnt done right. Some insurers won't touch a deseamed car unless it has an engineers report done on it. Also, your profile says you are 17. Have you tried seeing what insurance will say about deseaming?

There is an easy way of deseaming the sides, my old deseamed mini was done like it, they had taken the seam trims off, knocked the seams over so they were flat against the bodywork, welded the edge of the seam to the bodywork, knocked it in a bit and then fillered it. the roof gutter had been cut back to the edge of the spotwelds again it was knocked up welded along the edge of the seam, knocked in then fillered over.

But as everyone has said the problem was with water getting in the car, it was on about it's 4th floor.. lol..

You'll have to excuse my ugly mug in the photo it was 12 years ago.
