hi my recently built mini turbo is cutting out at 5000rpm. the engine just dies very cleanly just after the dump valve seems to boost, this happens in gear and in neutral.

why is this happening?

and why is it tacking so long to boost?

thank you

i would of said it was fuel related , but if your stopped and out gear and revving to 5k and its cutting out , not likely to be fuel as you`ll not be seing much boost , more info really needed

Have you blocked the venting pipe on the float chamber ?

Phil. :(

the only other ifo i have at the mo is it only cuts out when the intercoolers connected up, if you disconect one of the pipes ten it revs all day

Dont know much about turbos but could the fuel mixture go so lean it cuts out. Could be a incorrect needle or setup.

Sounds like there could be a blockage then & it's starving the engine of air. What intercooler you using ?
Or the mixture could be way off and the intercooler affects it enough to cause it to cut out ?
Why not try driving it without the intercooler and see if this really is the problem ?

sounds to me like the carb isn't plumbed up properly, the anti run on valve might not be blocked off properly as phil says, as its only cutting out when it sees boost.

if you take off one of the intercooler pipes then it's just gonna be a normal N/A setup really as the boost will be being pumped into the engine bay instead. so it will rev freely.

Is the connection marked in white blocked off ? is your regulator set up properly ? is the fuel pressure rising when the boost comes in ?

Phil.
