you only have 100 bhp so what is your reasoning for wanting a sc box?

straights give a lower bhp loss that helicals and straight drops dont side load the casing.
so in theory a s/c bix would be a benifit on any motor plus it is bar points and an awsome noise!

This is true, but I think what robson is illuding to, there's is no need for a SC box, or drops, because of the amount of power the engine is producing.. this is a personal choice rather than one which is dictacted by a load issue.

thanks for the replies chaps... theres a lot for me to mull over here!
reason for the straight cut is mainly personal, and yes, it will 'only' be 100bhp but theres plenty scope for improvement should I feel the need, so having this box will allow me to do that. Aditionally, from speaking to various people with similar set ups, helicals tend to go pop with higher bhp outputs. So i dont mind spending my hard earned initially in the quest for reliability.
In reply to another comment, I am looking for the hard acceleration but I also want to do some of the longer runs, bh2n for example... and i dont want to be screaming along the motorways at 5k revs for hours on end.
So basically, its accel AND cruise on a 5 speed or accel OR cruise on a 4... price aside ofcourse.

I have a 6 speed from JKD and also the sequential 4 speed from ? both are good the sequential leaks to much oil for my liking.
