I'm taking an extended holiday.

Number of reasons. Some for here, and some personal.

I'm just needing a break from everything 'Mini', to be honest. I've been here a year and a half, with an attempt to learn all about them and learn how to fix my own. But I just feel like I've wasted my time, at the moment. I've still got no idea what I'm doing or what most people are talking about! I feel that I can't really add anything of any value to the forum, due to my distinct lack of knowledge of anything remotely helpful!

Over the past year and a half, I've just had nothing but bad-luck with Minis, really. It's really worn me down, to the point that I'm wondering why I bothered in the first place.

So, before I do anything stoopid, like sell my little pride-and-joy, I'm going to take some time away and concentrate on other things.

I'll be putting most of my time into getting my degree and getting my company up and running. I think a break from everything else will help me to achieve what I want to.


I'd just like to say thanks to all the people I've met from here and everyone that has helped me. You're all fantastic.

I will be back, so keep my seat warm!

I often think the sme as you are but then I think well, even if I get all the books out and learn everything I can, there's always going to be someone who knows a lot more than me, and that doesn't make them better or you worse... that's just how it is.

You probably know more about minis than you think you do, that's the thing with forums of this nature. There are so many people that know a ridiculous amount about their subject that it's easy to feel like you know naff all. But you probably know more about minis than any of my non-mini mates know about their cars. Aaand, you do help the forum out too! You keep people happy by cheering them up too

I understand your reasoning, but as people have said above please don't think you have to have technical knowledge to be on this forum! Part of the fun of the forum for me is helping other people (or trying to!) understand their Mini more, and learn how to work on it etc etc - you'll find that the people who do have technical knowledge are quite willing to help, providing the questions asked make sense

But I know what you mean about taking time out - the forum can become a bit of an addiction if you're not careful, and can take up precious time when you should be doing something else!

Enjoy doing whatever you'll be doing, but keep us up to date with your business plans and also how the degree is going!

I look forward to seeing you back soon! And make sure Reggie is kept happy!
