I just tried sync'ing it the way you told me, and it didn't work.
So i've disconnected the battery again to reset it, to see if that'll work...
Getting annoying now.

Have you examined the soldering? There could be a break in it somewhere, my friend had exactly the same prob with his metro and he undid the fob and it turned out there was a break in the solder at the switch. Was easy to fix i think he did it by heating up the end of a small screwdriver!

Bump! - Still no luck.
Mate's just suggesting looking at the spark plugs, guessing it's worth looking at? Although would they change the fact that the immobiliser won't switch off...would it?

Right, took the fob into a local garage where I tested it on their fob...tester.
Usually when any button on the fob is pressed, an LED on the tester lights up, but for me I was only getting faint blinks from it.
I have a fresh battery in it, so does this mean the fob is on the way out?
If it is, I've found a few on eBay, but it says it's "ready for reprogramming" so does this mean I just have to synchronise it to the immobiliser, or take it to a garage to get programmed in? - Can I do this myself?
Cheers!
