what Mirrors Will Fit A Mayfair - One Will Be Needed

I have a 1987 Mini Mayfair which had grey standard mirrors on. When i got the car the drivers side had been bashed and the doors had been caved in which had smashed the drivers side mirror. I'm finding it really hard to get one so im wondering what other mirrors will fit. The drivers side has a new door skin on so it's not the problem, its the passenger side because it has been properly drilled with tapped pieces in which are like tapped out pieces of bar which the mirrors screw into. Because of this i am not sure which mirrors will fit into these holes. I've seen that rover mirrors are around £7 so i wondered whether it would be cheaper to buy a pair than just to buy one.
Also if anyone has a drivers side grey mayfair mirror i might be interested.
Any other mirrors going cheap maybe considered if they will definetly fit in the slots.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers for info,
I have seen a couple of mirrors on Ebay but they have gone for silly money.
I have had a look at MiniSports magazine and they had some silver ones which look good for £7 each but i don't want to buy them if they won't fit.

Just been to have a look at the passenger door and i have taken some pictures of the holes that are there.
We used a pattern panel door skin on the drivers side because i needed to do the car as cheap as possible as it isn't going to be a show car just a cheap run around.
Hope these pictures help

Cheers

As for building a cheap car by using pattern parts, it's rarely the case that the cheapest part makes for the cheapest repair. In my experience pattern body parts don't last as long as genuine ones so you may end up doing the same repair again sooner than you would like. Still, it's your car not mine so the choice is yours and it's done now anyway.

Thanks for the information Dan.
Does that mean that any new rover mini mirror will fit or will it have to be an original?
May need the grey mirror James, it depends on whether another type will fit and how much you want for it, if you find it that is.

I’ve got a spare good condition standard black plastic rover drivers side mirror going spare.
Cheers but i either need a pair of silver or a pair of black plastic or just a grey drivers side mirror.
One mirror on its own unless its grey isnt really any good
Cheers anyway

Not sure what you mean. Rover mirrors are original mirrors. Any Rover type plastic mirrors will fit, as will the late model optional plastichrome mirrors or any Tex or bullet mrrors if used with the commonly available adaptor base. There are also some bullet mirrors that fit these holes exactly without the adaptor.

This isn't really an option as i dont have any of the paint that is the right colour.Could spray them up to match your car?
What i meant by "Does that mean that any new rover mini mirror will fit or will it have to be an original?" is that will a modern rover mini mirror fit or will it have to be a part taken from an original car.
Well dont suppose it matters now as you have put nearly any mirror will fit so i shall probably put some silver colourcoded mirrors on from minisport.
Im quite new to minis so i'm not sure about all the bits like the mirror fixings for instance but i can always come on here if it get stuck.
Cheers
