Hi
I am in the process of refurbing my 1960 Morris Mini Minor. I will be repainting the grill and wheels, and I assume the colour shoudl be Old English White. Currently, they are a beige colour as they were repainted many years ago. I think this is the wrong colour.
I have attached a picture of the car which shows the wrong `beige' colour. What is the correct colour/code for the grill and wheels?
Thanks
John

Hi Guys
yes, I thought so, but I thought it a good idea to double check. After watching a DVD about the BMC `Baby' Morris Mini Minor launch in 1959, it defo looks OEW on those early colour moves.
I have spent ages getting the old paint off (not actually done with that yet) with a wire brush on a drill. I wish now I had invested in a shotblast cabinet!!
I will etch prime etc tomorrow, and will do the wheels next week.
Cheers for the compliment on the car. It has never actually been restored, and one owner for 46 years!
Thanks

Look around locally at blasters.
The chap i use charges £7 per wheel (not bothered if tyres are still fitted).
You could probably get the lot done for £40?

Yeah sandblasting is great for steels. Either that or nitromors, would be easier than a wire brush on a drill. That is a lovely mini, you're a lucky chappie.
