I have a small chrome extinguisher on order, but I'm wondering where the best place to put it will be. Where did you mount yours, and how? Note that I do NOT have a roll bar/cage - I just want to be ready in case the worst happens. I'd prefer to mount it somehow against the passenger seat brackets and under the passenger's way, but I'm not sure if the use of the seat for rear passengers will be affected - if you have yours mounted in this location, I'd be particularly interested in seeing your mounting solution.

Thanks in advance!!

Any issues with rust? Looks like simple self-tappers, yes? I'm always wary of drilling holes...

A-HA!!! Now the truth comes out!

Erm...

Anyway... Cool. I was wondering if the brace was a valid mounting location (for rust or access reasons) and it looks very viable. I'll give it a shot when my unit arrives. Thanks so much!!

nah, nothing much happens with the cross member, so you'll be okay to drill and mount there

That's not bad either... I don't have a rear speaker board yet, but I have one all cut and ready to go, so that's definitely another option... thanks!

Mine is mounted to the crossmember on the drivers side so it's in easy reach, it's a big Chubb foam extinguisher. I don't like the small ones as they have no guage on them and they last all of 10 secs.

Just make sure you mount it where you can reach it, i wouldn't mount it in the back because by the time you have got out of the car tipped the seat forwards grabbed the extinguisher it could be too late.

You can just see the botton of mine in this pic

Monstrous - that fitting looks like friction-only - hope it doesn't tear loose in a crash, mate. Definitely seems like the cross-member is the way to go for reach reasons, and so long as it doesn't inconvenience the passenger, that looks like the best location. >_<
