As a lot of you peepz know I'm building a full-size mini trailer (he's looney  you know!!) here's link for those who don't http://www.theminifo...showtopic=62134

Anyways, I've got a 2nd hand f/glass flip front and brand spanky new f/glass boot lid, see pix - need advice please on how to prep both (what type of etch/primer, whatever, how many coats, times between coats, sanding down etc.) I need in order to paint them.

Sorry to be a pain but I know me metals but not well up on fibree glazz. Thanx in advance :)

Flat down the front with 180 grit, blocking any ripples out and filling any holes or dodgy bits. Finish in 240 grit, plastic prime and then prime with high build primer. After that treat it exactly as you would metal. Make sure it's 100% dry before you prime it, as if fibreglass is damp when painted it'll micro blister after a while.
As for the new boot, make sure the fit is okay, trim if needed, rub it down with 240, filling any holes etc, and plastic prime/ prime as above.
