:withstupid: :) :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx:

I've got a timing cover leak from the gasket....

So, I've got everything out of the way to get that off and it's come to undoing the bolts around there. Most of them have come out OK, there's still a couple left that are soaking...

However, there's one little bugger who won't come out >:P

It turns freely but doesn't actually 'unthread' > It turns and turns but just doesn't undo :xxx:

How utterly screwed, am i? :w00t:

Daft question from me, but its not the one at the front with the nut on it ??.If not only suggestion is to try and get a thin blade screwdriver under the head as you turn, see if that will start it off.

If it's just turning... that could be why it's leaking  the bolt or more likely the bit where the bolt screws into may be fubar.

Have you had it off before? :P ahem, lol.

Your problem will be it sounds as though there is little thread left in the back plate - which means the bolt won't torque up properly on re-assembly and hence the timing cover will still leak.

I'll see what it does when I re-assemble it.. I'm going to clean up all the bolts before I put them back in, as they're absolutely caked in grime and nastiness!

Fingers crossed it'll be ok :P
