Your getting into a technical area, thought about doing it but alot of power consumtions to figure out but this site is good
Visit My Website
and http://www.cappuccin...com/default.asp there a couple of wesites that help. But ur main things u will need are motherboard that will suit your powersupply which will need to have the modes for in car and a stable hdd and a touch screen monitor for easy use, apart from that u could just stick xp on it so its not to hard and i recon probs about 250 to build if ya us ebay for the touch screen and search around for the parts.

The M2 provides more power for same money with the same features.

i got a pioneer 7" screen that i will be putting in behind the drivers side glovebox of an early dash. then having my dell laptop under the drivers seat with a wireless keyboard that might be fixed on a bracket under the passager side dash. that swings round to the drivers side (over the gearstick) just like on "2 fast 2 fuious" where they program their ECU's before racing. :dontgetit: should be good.

you never know i might even type stuff on here when im stuck on the m6 again. hehe! now that is style! i wounder what the coppers would say about that.

internet while driving??? hehehe!!!

nah. checking ebay mini items on the move! when im cruzing in other towns.

(just off topic here too)
i will even put a connection in the boot for my amp that is connected to my CD player that alows me to use my guitar on my existing car amp. to save buying a perpose made one and using up valuable space in my bedroom.

some custom made backet. proably have to do away with the centre console though. :closed: if you have the ideas. make them work. they can only fail if you give up.

this braket for example. i could make at work from the bottom bit of a MAN TG (truck) wing mirror that would do perfectly.

see whats on ebay under brakets and see what you can do. easy when you know how.

Or you could use that bracket type thing that you see at the top of self closing doors in hotels and schools.

solid state are really expensive atm, but would be good in a carputer because they obviously aint gonna pack in when you go over a speed bump because thats whet there designed to do, try a western-digital hard-drive they are good, and reasonably priced 750gb 90 inc P+P from overclockers or something

U could always buy a Netbook and hook up a DC PSU to it and install a separate Touchscreen by the USB interface.
I have seen installs that have relocated the Screen to the center console by extended ribbon cable and attached the main body of the netbook in the glove box.
Then overlay the USB after market touch screen to the relocated screen.
This way you can still access the netbook keyboard and usb if needed and still use the standard 10" screen.

I am planning on doing this when I manage to find a reasonable priced mini here in Thailand for my build.
