The CF roof that ABS make does it have the seam in the middle or does it have a 2inch gap all the way around. Am i right in thinking that curleys roof has a two in gap all the way round?
Many Thanks all

Les, do yourselves, or do you know of any company that stocks CF rolls wider than 1m that will produce a roof?
Yes and if you have deep pockets I was told we could get our hands on 1500mm+.
Although at the minute this means nothing as we only have a mould for our Clubman Estate roof

Baaaa, mine must get used and abused too much then
Anyways, i think you'll find the novelty soon wears off when you have to keep explaining to people who are non the wiser, why you havn't painted your roof/bonnet/boot/watever
It instantly becomes un-cool if you have to explain to everyone why its cool!
mines used and abused

and yes...highly annoying when you get people "thats not carbon fibre is it" ook just go look through the cracks in the coat or its "why havnt you painted it" bla bla bla...

The carbon roof on the ABS site is mine Im pretty sure, it was put up right after I got mine and it wasnt on the menu when I ordered my other items from them.
The fit and finish is good, perfect no. But for the price is is a nice roof. The one problem I do have with it is the edges are not finished very well. I am having to smooth it out a bit on the edges and having the edges painted black to cover up some of the filling we had to do (there were pits etc.. on the edges). As well its not flat. It has high and low spots in it (inherent to hand made carbon fiber) and because its the roof they show.
Would I buy the roof again? If it were a road car yes, if it was a show car (like mine) no. Dont get me wrong Im not knocking the roof its just not as good as it could be but for the price its a very good alternative to the Curly and some others. Hope this helps

Look for quality rather than saving a few quid. Otherwise you may end up feeling a bit let down!

my roof's been on 1-2 years now and no sign of milking up.. depends how u treat them. I cover mine up when i don't use it. so the sun (when its out) doesn't ruin the look.
dave ,the amount you use your car i doubt it will even get dirty!
LOL

HAHA... the birds poo on it!!!
yes the curley one does
You can ask for it not to come with the black gel coat, but it depends on how u fix the roof on.. i sikaflexed mine on. so the black blends in ok.

iv got a CF bonnet on my project mini, had it on there since 2005 and not milked...has chipped the gel coat off to the fibres bt thats because i forgot to do up my straps and it flipped
