Hi, I need to replace my door step panels as well as my sills because there is no lip left to weld the new sills to. I found plenty of very helpful information on replacing the sills but nothing on the door steps.
Please can someone help.

Pretty much the same, but upside down! spot weld both lips, seam weld it at either end, dress welds, skim over the joins with filler.

place the new step panel on top of the old step and mark the ends and remove the new panel and cut along the mark with a hacksaw then cut out the rest of the step.
tack the new step in place but check the gap along the bottom and that it is in line with the door before fully welding/spot in place.
this is my opinion and will differ from others.
