Hi Guys

I am about ready to fit the new subframe, it is a heritage unit.

I have only fitted second user units before so this is a new start for me.

It is covered in the cataphoretic/electrophoretic coating.

My question is do I leave the coating on (is it just a storage protection) or do I remove it and spray it with POR15.

All replies gratefully received.

Electropheric coating is pretty much an etch primer, so just leave it, but make sure you scotchbrite it down with the red stuff, or use 500 grit paper, but the latter is much more time consuming! apply etch primer to any areas where you may have gone through, and prime and topcoat as normal.
