As for modern Hollywood drivel and endless remakes, well they can go stuff all that.

The BRAZILIAN JOB???! Are they serious?! Come on, does it not make everyone else think of something to do with wax?!
Lol is it a clean film? or one for the internet?
Binis were used because the original plan to get the gold was to drive into the house to get the gold until charlie and crew got busted in the restaurant.

The original film cannot be beaten, and i have to agree that the Bini, as far as a car goes, aint all that bad, but it sucks as far as being a mini is concerned. (they aint even that small!)
And i feel that this is where the new film goes wrong. If you class something as a sequel, or the second part, or whatever, at least try to stick to the whole ethos of the first.
As far as a film goes, (rubbish to be honest), but it is definatley tainted by calling it The Italian Job, as it has some huge shoes to fill, and its feet just aint big enough.
The Brazillian Job? Can you imagine the plot behind this one? Might have the same cast as Snatch.

Thoughts, lol

I agree with the above aswel, the BMW MINI is a great little car and a lot better than most of the cars on the current market. And IS an iconic car of its own time.... yes it had the history of the original mini to help it but it is still one of the most popular cars of today hence why it was used in the film.
For the sake of everyone who doesn't know, the BMW MINI was infact designed by Rover, there was no way the original mini was going to hold up in the market for much longer so they did what every other car manufacturer does..... they redesigned it.
So can we please stop comparing the original mini with the new mini.
I also really enjoyed the new film, probably more than the original but I will still say the original was a fantastic film and had a muge bigger impact on its time as a film than the new one will ever have.

Technically the MPi Mini could have legally stayed in production until 2003, according to Rover.

I think this has been covered a few times before.. i watched it for free at BMW plant Oxford (they built a cinema inside the production area!!!
) There was free popcorn and they unveiled the Mini Convertible at the same time.
I fell asleep and never did see the end.

Nope, it was designed by a Yank who then left to work for Maserati.
The original Mini was designed by Alec Issigonis and that's why the BINI will always be just a BINI.

Probably because BMW payed the producers a lot of money. Product placement is very common in films these days.
Yeup, that's why Ford paid an obscene ammount for the new Mondeo (just befor it was launched) to be in the first 5 mins of the last Bond film.
I wondered why sophisticated James was driving a Ford.
