Hey guys, im looking to get some body/paintwork done on my mini and am looking around for quotes at the moment for local bodyshops.
Im WestMidlands based, coming from Dudley and while I don't want to have to travel too far, i'm willing to go an hour or two out of my way if anyone knows somewhere that can do a decent job at a fair price.

The job is essentially a front end respray on a 2000 model cooper S with some refurb work on the usual rust spots. Paint is metallic British racing green, so needs to be somehwere that can blend metallics well.
I'll be replacing the bonnet and nearside A-panel, with the offside A panel and headlight mounting areas needing the refurb work.
So far I've had two quotes locally. 'Paintmark' gave me a rough figure of £400-500 (but their garage looks a bit like a scrap yard and I've heard some mixed reviews), while 'Bodycraft', a local insurance specialist have mailed me an exact quote that falls in the region of £950+vat (thats what, ~£1150?).

Im interested to know if anyone knows the details of any bodyshops or garages in the midlands that they could recommend to me?
Might also be nice to hear what you think would be a fair figure for the job. anything around a grand is simply out of my price range.

cheers guys
