yep - been swearing at rubber trumpet thingys and other assorted bolt like devices, but got the front subframe assy just about finished.

well, its T-minus 28 days I think, and we're looking pretty good. few little niggles have come out of tonight but nowt serious.

we're gonna paint her in johns garage - our only blessing is that the bodyshell is absolutley solid - no rust of any serious nature anywhere, so its a pretty simple rub down, little filler and paint.

should be a doddle - could be famous last words

As the resident painting expert I would advise giving it a coat of "bar-coat" before you paint. It could save you a lot of time and hassle.

Modern paints don't seem as resistant to reacting(as I found out)

thats because modern paints are water based. and there different to solvent based

Also, when you key the surface, I found actually using a key works really well! Failing that, Pebbels are good to rub over it.

Not all the time, some are polyester based.

2 pack is still available, i think its in a High Solid form? not sure though
