- OK - how do I make one of the bike gears 1.5mm thinner? the primary output gear that the coupling goes onto.
the gear will be very stong so that rules out lathe really, what about having it precicly ground down? i dont mean with angle grinder

surface grinding appears to be the answer - might have to do it manually with linishing disks and a jig.

I've got a surface grinder at work!!!
1.5mm is a lot with a surface grinder, best to rough it down with a grinder and then finish with the surface.
Do ya want it done?
