Errm i need an easy way to offset the VR sensor, dual ignition would be ready to go and i can set cranking advance. I think they are the only benefits. Other than an LED lol . Dunno really though, i can be a bit of a perfectionist at times with silly things like that, and im not happy till its done right.
Should arrive tomorrow

You thought about fitting a 12G940 head and pocketing the block?
Pete.

Nope, i dunno if i could cope either, only one way to find out though
Im not gonna pocket the block as its all built up now bar the head and diff. In which case i am gonna get my 12G295 cooper head ported and converted to unleaded as one of the seats is badly offset.
MJLJ V4 came yesterday Excellent service from trigger wheels But my vacuum hose (via royal mail) didnt come today which means i still cant get it fully up and running.

Done a little bit more today. Im pleased to say that the MJ is fully sorted now, no hassles in the cold or rain
Last weekend though, i stripped a balljoint thread when i was shimming up the bottoms - so i mixed up some araldite slopped it on . It sounds worse than it was but i didnt think it would do any harm like that. Knowing i needed a new hub i managed to pick up a set of front hubs locally for a decent price and swapped them over today (eventually). 1 beaker bar and torque wrench later the hub nut still wasnt off the car lol. So with half my toolkit now FUBAR i then welded them all back together again . I ended up splitting the nut with a cold chisel and a large hammer in the end. Apart from snapping the bench vice off the bench, the rest of the day was fairly simple.
Thats all for the last week or so - been stripping down the mainstream cooper for a restoration as well

As I've been busy on the Cooper today, I thought I'd stick a pic up of mine, so its not feeling left out :

Errm .
I somehow managed to run over a tin of Hammerite today, having it explode all over the front N/S wheel/caliper/disc/hub assembly, so i spent most of today stripping it all down, and cleaning up. I did however manage to fit 2 rear window seals in a fashion (after taking a nice chunk out of the paintwork), do an oil change, and fix the wiper motor - as it was blowing the fuse so i had no tunes in the car on the way to work!! . So yeah, what a complete hash of a day off.
