Well Hmmm. There might be a change of plan with engines

Might be building up a pikey 1380 to go with my pikey wheels on my pikey car to go in this weekend. If i can do it relatively cheap (think i only need gaskets and a helicoil kit) then ill get it in. BUT I dont know what i did with the 1275 push rods . The reason for this is because my car smokes a little (ask shifty Re: Malvern smoke screen). Think its the head anyways, in which case I'll just get some guides next month and do an overhaul on that.

But yeah whatever. Kept be busy stripping a 1275 for the crank, only to find out its FUBAR and i had a decent one on the shelf anyways!!

Malvern LAST YEAR . Got most of the bits - 296 cam, isky followers, oil pump, Weber + manifold thats on mine, pissheads + rods etc.. blah blah, 'box ill use off mine as its solid + moly pin etc., MJ is in so mapping is easy, verto clutch = Hmmm, Oil cooler, double valve springs, fuelling etc. all done blah blah blah blah. Really is just gaskets, helicoil, shells (didn't want to go to that expense but I dunno) and cam bearings which I have and ill sort them myself. All assuming the head is OK (which I'm 70% sure it isnt anyways )

Man I have fitted Vaux stuff to the car - a horn!! Wait till next month man, should be a reasonable update as I've paid the bills now so i can get on the phone to the machine shop. Be nice to get the bottom end built up so i can put it to bed and concentrate on the head!

Pikey engines are good, mine is, mostly rebuilt with second hand parts.

Standard head LOL! Really want to spend as little as poss on it. Might just dive in there with a grinding stone/files/sandpaper/sticks whatever seems to work.
