Sprocket is our resident Inj speciallist..... his thoughts are just stick with the rover type sensor.....the generic ones might prove more hassel than they are worth.... just a thought

sorry to hijack the thread, but I have an mpi which from cold will rev at 2000rpm forever or until the throttle is blipped to 4000rpm and then it is fine.

is this a simular fault?

Personally I don't know but my SPi can do that... blip it and the idle gets lower... lol... works on my carb aswell but that could just be a sticking cable >_<

Rodders - remove clean and refit (including O ring) your IACV, drivers side of the inlet usually has a blue multi plug on the top of it.

MiniSport also has them on their website for GBP27 - quite a deal. It's not a Bosch though!

Thanks... I'll bear that in mind... managed to get a sensor for £40 from our local motor factors, so the job is getting better all ready!

Going to go outside and start stripping the exhaust off, don't get paid till Thursday so all the stuff is on order for then! lol

Just to let you all know... incase anyone else has the problem.

The stepper motor was out, due to all the cables being disconnected and the inlet manifold moved about... i think... lol, and the map sensor was completely discinergrated, had to replace the small pipe between the oil trap and the inlet manifold.

Runs and idles perfecto now! :)

Thanks everyone for your help :D lol ;)

Ryan :P
