i was just using scruteneering as a link as its somthing iv been told over and over somthing i can relate to n such. Honestly i can say i dont know much about MOT but i was more pointing out people can miss stuff

People can overlook things yes but to fail you on a heater the tester would have to be adding something extra into the test, not forgetting something.

I suppose it's possible there's construction and use regulations you could fall foul of not to mention the Police if they decide a foggy screen constitutes driving without due care - and your insurers.

My heater on my last Mini didn't work particularly well, I used to have it on and then open the window too and sometimes I would just open the window to demist it. Job done.
