Was wandering if anyone has tried using a metal filler compound on their mini and if so is it better than using a tin of halfords powder body filler? The only problem i can see is that its alluminium based filler so could cause dissimilar metal surface corrosion if anyone can let me know would be greatly appriciated thanks Rob.

just remember because its a metal filler it not a replacement for welding

i remember the story from a long time ago about the guy who deseamed his mini with chemical metal (replaces metal with metal)

cut the seems off filled the gaps and repainted the car

drove down his drive down the kerb and his car fell to bits

lol what fun. No it was for a couple of rust spots where its gone through on the roof but only a very small area and thought welding was a bit over the top!

If there are holes, weld it. Aluminum based filler is not porous. Don't know of any other advantages over normal polyester filler.
