I brought mine from minispares, it was all sealed, and was yellow. I have 2 more bottles though, not checked those yet. although the label on the green stuff and yellow stuff is different. may get a pic up tonight.

Will it be okay to mix the green and yellow oil together, because I've still got half a can of the green stuff left?
you'll end up with a whole new colour.
Halfords classic oil, comes in a metal can, and is Green 20W50...?

Anyway there's a similar thread about the colour of Duckhams oil on the Mini Cooper Register forum, in fact there's two.
So I hope to ring the makers tomorrow and then hopefully clear this whole debate up once and for all.

The product itself is perfectly safe to use, but it was stopped at the manufacturing stage for safety reasons.
But it's the same quality oil and the green and now not green oil are both compatible with each other, because it's the same oil but with no dye.
I hope that clears it up, but it does sound like a lame excuse to me?

CHEAP AS CHIPS
Is it? Last time I looked it was £14.99. You can pick up 20W/50 Comma oil for £8 and, going by the above posts, it's the same stuff.

Right I just telephoned Castrol-BP themselves for the answer (Castrol Consumer Tech Dept tel no 01793 452222) and they said they've now stopped adding the dye for health reasons.
