Afternoon All,

Has anybody done trials for medical research?

I know you can get a bit of cash, but I just wondered if anyone had any experience of this?!

I knoe about the "Elephant Man" thing that happened couple of years back, but anybody done 'em?

xx

Taaaaaaa!

I've had my brain scanned for a few trials. Got £25 a scan, plus bus fare, tea & biccies. I love MRIs anyway....very soothing........ >_<

Do a web search?

Didnt some people die not so long ago because they had some testing drug injected into them?

Im sure it was on one of those panarama things?

Medical testing isnt for me im afraid... I could deal with brain scans for tests n stuff like that, but i would put anything in or out of my body!

Ahhhh, I thought you got like a few thousand for each one. Getting less than £100 just isn't worth it.

Yeah I thought that too. Getting less than one hundred just isn't worth it for the risks involves.

A few friends of mine did medical trials while they were at uni.... testing different acne and anti-histamine drugs. They earned themselves some beer money, but not much else!

Apparently they pay you thousands for a little toe.......... I've often wondered whether we should just get Sy's other toe cut off (he had the other one removed) to pay for our loft conversion! :)

What......??? :D It would even him up a bit >_<

I wish I got paid for all my 'medical science help'..... my innnards are plastered all over medical journals and labs across the world!!!

Even if you do die I don't think you'll mind too much.

True >_<

Doesn't seem to be worth the risk, especially if you get nothing if you develop complications like imabitnaughtyxx :)

Seems very dodgy if the drug companies can get people to sign contracts that indemnify them for causing harm.
