Just picked this up yesterday, Mini City Auto with 2 owners and 18,000 miles. Seems that it has been laid up in dry storage for much of its life. Had a respray last year to rectify scratched and dents picked up whilst in storage. Has had one replacement wing and front panel at some point, other than that, floors, sill, A panels are all original. I can only find two small welded patches, one on drivers floor pan and one on rear seat pan.

Only has three weeks MOT left to run so need to get that sorted pretty quickly. Plan to drive the car through this summer then strip it down in the Winter to do a Manual conversion.

The Mini went in for an MOT last week, only had a few minor items to sort out, 'lazy' N/S/R brake and some faulty electrics from the previous owner. Now have this sorted and a shiny new MOT cetificate. Think that I'll get some nice new wheels ordered up now and get rid of those awful crome arch covers!

Chrome arch trims have been removed and a few tidying up jobs done. N/S front wheek bearing has gone which prompted me to start refurbishing a 7.5" disk setup that has been sitting in the garage for about 15 years. Also have a set of Super Minifins and refurbished hubs to go on the back. Still deciding on wheels although tending towards 6 x 10 Minator.

Made a little progress recently, complete refurbishment of N/S Rear brakes and Hub:

Copper Brake Pipes
Braided Flexi Hose
Wheel Cylinder
Brake Shoes
Return Springs
Wheel Bearing
Super Minifin drum

Had some trouble with some UNIPART brake shoes that appear to be incorrectly manufactured. Simply could not back them off far enough to get the drum on. It has been suggested by some others that they have seen the same problem with these Shoes. In the end, sourced some Lockheed shoes and no problem with them. Just need to get the car turned around (small garage) and tackle the other side now.

Latest little project is adding one of DSN Classics alloy Steady Bars. I went for the option with the rose joint as I currently have an Auto fitted and needed the longer bar. I'll have my options covered when I convert to Manual. Also fitted a heater take off in place of the normal heater valve. I shall be running without a heater so this tidy's up the plumbing.

Have been collecting parts for my 7.5" disk setup for a while now. Here is the first one built up using an original 'S' type hub. The second one is going to use a 'new' hub as my other 'S' one turned out to be damaged. Disks will be clamped with 4 Pot calipers.
