Nope  unless you have some runs you want to sort out before popping your clear on.

A nice way to do it is to do your basecoat in the morning and laquer it in the evening before bed, then you wake up the next day and it's all done lol.

You shouldn't leave basecoat that long before clear coating there is a window of time that it should be done within if you leave it too long the chance of the clear not sticking is higher and it can start flaking off. The time depends on how/where its painted if in a booth/oven then 10-15 minuite flashoff then clearcoat if your doing it in a garage or similar then time will have to be extended to allow solvent to escape more like 20-30 min. if you do denib bits out the basecoat then you need to re base those areas or else the scratches will show through the clear.

never had any problems with the base morning clear evening method, but you're right,... ideally it should be done very soon after,.

but it's already too late for that.

Soon as base is touch dry (test this on the masking not the panel, obviously) then it's fine to be lacquered. No need to wait more than 30 mins in any environment, that's solvent, we won't get into waterbase.. :D

Ahhh i see, well il be doing the next lil lot like that then.

So now iv finished the clear coat on these bits, once fully dry, 1500 wet and dry... G3 rubbing... then polish????

Cheers

Mark.

Yes let primer dry, and it also needs flatting before applying base, unless it's etch primer or wet on wet.
