MG Rover does exist doesn't it. It's owned by a foreign guy, they only produce custom cars or something now. They don';t do production cars. It was Rover that got pulled down.

Rover was sold to the Phoenix Group for a tenner...

In May 2000.

Rover officially stopped producing cars on 8th April 2005. The brand is currently owned by Ford.

The administrators of MG Rover must be scratching their heads.

When BMW sold the business to MG Rover for pounds 10 it included a licence to use the registered trademark Rover on cars. MG Rover claims that last year they sold all the intellectual property rights to the Rover 75 and 25 to Shanghai Automotive for pounds 67 million.

Shanghai Automotive appears to be claiming that it can build these cars under the Rover marque, but that would be unusual in trademark licence terms, according to Neil Maybury.

Apparently it's a right Cluster, the chinese bought the rights to the silouhette's and names of some cars, not others and failed to purchase intellectual property rights on any of it

Which is why the new cars will be now under the brand name Roewe, the Rover name going to Ford due to the connection with Land Rover.

MG of course going to Nanjing, as said above.

i THINK British Motor Heritage (BMH) own the Mini name, or they have the rights to use the Mini winged badge anyway. i may be wrong though.

BMW have owned the Mini name and all other associated names and logos since 1994.

BMH just have the licence to produce panels and shells for the Mini.

I believe there was a period where BMH was owned by BMW, they are now independant.
