Hi all
As most know in a different post i might need to replace the rings, i was wondering if i should change the cam while i have it appart.
It has a 544 cam from mini sport at the moment, is there a cam that would run better with my supercharged engine??
It is a 1400cc supercharged, stage 2 head, powermax 73.5mm pistons, duplex timing gears.
Also is there anything else that might work better with a supercharger while it is in bits.
Cheers in advance
Different Cam?

Personally I would have a different set of pistons put in say some omega dished ones and bring down the compression ratio that way instead of a thicker gasket. and save your other pistons if you diced you want to go normally asp again. In my opinion this is the best and safest way of bring the first stage of compression down and I have seen omega Cast piston producing BIG horse power without the risk of melting.
I am running a 286 scatter cam in mine but havent had it out yet on the road, so will let you know when I do. yours should handle this cam as you have Bigger CC aswell. and the power band on this cam fits well with the revving limit of the Supercharger
Hope this helps

I'd speak to the turbo boys on turbominis, or someone like vmax who have a lot of experiance with the supercharger conversions. Thers a bit of difference with cams when using forced induction - well, turbos anyway - they tend to use short duration high lift cams with very little overlap, i'd imagine its the same for superchargers.
