I finally purchased a mini  30 thousand miles on the clock, verified by full DVLA log book and previous mot certificates etc... one previous owner... "e" reg 1980's White Austin Mayfair 998cc. Starts up first time without choke . had it a day and I love it so much! Driving it is brilliant.. attached is a picture of it on my drive, there is alot of rust i think i will replace most of the panels... can someone help me and tell me how to do a full panel replacement job? on the front wing... the previous owner had tried filling and primer without much luck...Below is a list of problems so far:

1) After driving it rough i found the alternator belt had snapped (oops) :fear:
2) Bodywork rust/corroded nearly all over
3) a little water in passengers footwell
4) when going over a bump the battery connector keeps coming off
5) drivers window winds down at a tilt
6) passengers window doesn't wind down at all
7) MW/LW radio... Really annoying ... no good music
8) Hazard warning light works... single indicators don't
9) I think it leaks :fear:

I think thats it... Ill keep updating this... but for now can i get some advice please

See if there's a "Hex Holdings" near you. They had some panels in stock (sills and a-panel) and ordered the rest next day. The best bit? because I was oily, they sold it me trade price! Hadrian wing, £19+vat, A-panel £5.50+vat, sill £10+vat! Otherwise I have a spare wing where I replaced mine with a grp front, if you want it

Looks like a mini ready to be sculpted into something amazing!
My drivers window winds at a tilt to, it doesn't seem to be held in place at the rear? If you push it down manually it'll go, use it as a party trick(its character lol) Your indicators run off a different sender unit its under all of you clocks under the bottom dash rail, get your haynes out im sure you'll find it, that most likely the prob, or your hazards aren't turned off fully, try turnin them off a bit faster and harder. then try the indicators.

Goold luck mate, oh yea pretty lady in your avatar well done with that one lol!

as for the nice lady... thats Tara my girlfriend she's only 14 pervs  but i love her to bits....

Mattvallins How much will that wing + postage to WF4 5EW?

Failing replacing them i probably go for a fibreglass front, because i like the deseamed bumper style.

that really is a project. hope your pockets are deep......

Mines cost abit to do, but not that much when i look at my m8s standard fiat punto which keeps smashing heads n water pump failure etc.

Taken up the carpet.. the other one was old/worn and damp, and ive found the hole! its on the nearside wheel arch. Once i learnt how to weld at school, its being plugged straight up. The interior is one of the first things i am tackling after the body is sound.

How do you remove the seatbelt holders in the middle to remove the rear carpet?
